ST. PETE RUNFEST INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE WALK & RUN
Let’s move together in celebration of Peace! Join The Global Love Project and St. Pete Runfest for a walk, run, or simply a chance to observe International Day of Peace alongside others. It’s free and all ages and abilities are welcome.
PEACE ON THE PIER: CALL FOR ARTIST SUBMISSIONS
Inspired by International Day of Peace and the many ways we find Peace in nature, the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center will host Peace on the Pier, a group art exhibition, from October 22nd, 2026, through January 22nd, 2027. Artist submissions are due September 21st, 2026 by 5 PM.
PEACE AND LOVE AT SANS MARKET
Stop by Sans Market, your local zero waste lifestyle store, to celebrate International Day of Peace! Explore a special display highlighting the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals, shop limited-edition Love & Peace items, and learn more about how small actions can create a more peaceful and sustainable world. A portion of proceeds from select items will support The Global Love Project.
PEACE WEEK KICKOFF AT ECKERD COLLEGE
Watch the sunset, imagine a sustainable world, and create a collaborative chalk mural. Eckerd College students are invited to come together at The Pavilion on South Beach to celebrate the new academic year and a shared commitment to peace and sustainability.
WISH ON A FISH
Visit the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center to “Wish on a Fish” by writing a wish or hope that you have for the future on a paper fish, which you can then leave with us to be displayed together with other wishes to create a school of colorful fish.
COMMUNITY CHALKING WITH THE GLOBAL LOVE PROJECT
Join The Global Love Project at Vinoy Park during the week of International Day of Peace to celebrate our shared commitment to Peace, sustainability, and a better world for all. Grab some chalk and channel your creativity into messages, drawings, and colorful expressions of what Peace means to you. Whether you stay for a few minutes or settle in and enjoy the sunset, everyone is invited to contribute to this collective celebration.

Whether you stay for a few minutes or a few hours, everyone is invited to contribute to this collective celebration.
A SEA OF PEACE COMMUNITY CHALKING EVENT
To celebrate the International Day of Peace, the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center will host a community chalking activity in the wet classroom area in front of their building on the St. Pete Pier. Pier visitors will be invited to come together as a community to add their own drawings to what will become a collaborative chalk mural. Participants will be prompted to draw things that bring them joy, love, and that reflect our Tampa Bay community.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE SOUND BATH WITH KATELYN GRADY
Join The Body Electric Yoga Company for a deeply restorative sound bath in honor of the International Day of Peace. As the world feels increasingly fast-paced and uncertain, it's more important than ever to pause, breathe, and nurture inner calm. Through the soothing vibrations of crystal bowls, gongs and other healing instruments, we'll create a shared space of stillness—reminding ourselves that peace begins within and ripples outward into our communities.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
Recognized by the United Nations each September 21st, International Day of Peace is a global call to strengthen the ideals of peace through everyday action. This year’s theme, “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day,” reflects the belief that peace is not simply the absence of conflict, it is something communities must build through connection, compassion, opportunity, sustainability, and service.

Join the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center in celebrating International Day of Peace through art, nature, and community. Inspired by the St. Pete Pier as a place to gather, reflect, and reconnect, Peace on the Pier invites artists to explore the many ways we experience and create Peace through our relationship with the natural world. Come experience creative interpretations celebrating wildlife, ecosystems, shared spaces, and the choices we make to create a more peaceful, sustainable world for people and the estuary.
